22 The installations by Xu Zhen (aka Madein) are characterized by their monumentality and irony. Here it is a painting that caught our attention. The idyllic title Under Heaven contrasts with its more prosaic subtitle 20120730 , the green-blue and white paint conglomerates are kitsch reminders of Italian gelato. They are arranged tightly against each other, nagging and exaggerating each other. Interconnections are fighting against meaning and intensity.
