42 Through a certain zeal for positivism, one reaches this latest work Harmonious Society by Wang Sishun dating from 2014. The work is disconcerting in its strength and balance. It is a cylindrical steel sculpture just over a meter high. This proportionate volume is bent, playing on a ground support point. Despite its precarious disposition, its reasonable height makes it plausible. The minimalist proposal converges towards a field of possibilities. We forget for a moment the technicality to appreciate the stability despite this precise imbalance. Here is the last temptation: to apply a constant equilibrium in the programmed instability of the turning point.
